Hi all, long time lurker with the odd question. We have finally pulled the trigger on an '09 X1 (arrives here in New Zealand in a couple of weeks). It doesn't have PP (I assume it has the standard MC cruise), and wondering about installing it. I have heard that it's pretty simple (plug it in!), but now I have read a couple of posts that have suggested on the 09 models, it may not be quite that simple (due to new ECM??) Any theories/ideas. I know someone here with PP in a box (never installed) and may take advantage of this if it works.

Cheers

Your 2009 should have an E-Controller instead of an ECM. Therefore, I would suggest getting Zero Off for your speed control as the company that makes the E-Controller owns Zero Off, so they work very well together. Not to mention Zero Off offers a superior pull... in my opinion.

In a 2009, I'm not sure PP is an option. ZO may be your only choice.

I thought someone mentioned PP was only available in the wakeboard boats for '09 and beyond?

You know, you may be correct there now that I think about it.

I would try the MC cruise, I have it and have had no issues. Holds speed just fine for me. Won't hurt to try it out for a while and see how you like it.

I would echo what ORX-1 said, I have the crusie and it is workable, if you're really serious I would upgrade to ZO but for recreation the cruise has been good

Thanks all. Will try the MC cruise first (haven't used it before, so have no idea of how well it works) before deciding whether to upgrade. just thought that this was a perfect opportunity to upgrade to PP, but it is not to be ......

If it was a 190, 197, 214, X-14, or X-7 you could get the Zero Off and get $3000 back, http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=536676&postcount=1

Thanks, unfortunately for us (well not really unfortunately) we love the X1, so we'll just cope somehow :D
