Check in here and let's see if anyone is interested in trailering to a central location for a day on the lake. I have observed several folks here from the East TN area. Central Tennesseans welcome also. Relative to your Central area, I am 1 hour East of Cookeville, (TN Tech Alumni) at exit 352 on I-40.

In East TN, I'm in Kingston, on Watts Bar lake (25 miles west of Knoxville right off of I-40).
Have a privately owned lake lot to offer up for use with ramp and dock and plenty of room to spread out on shore. Grills are provided. Otherwise there is a city park in town with good ramps, parking, and water for skiing and hanging out by going up river a short hop. (No courses on this area of the lake, as I have go to Center Hill lake for that). There is a sand bar where peeps hang, chicks are being chicks, and volleyball net is in clean, shallow, sandy bottom water.

No big deal if it materializes or not but this would offer all of us to visit other lakes and stretches of water for skiing should we so choose to visit somewhere for a day trip.

Any of you guys ever taken your boat for service to the MC dealer in Cleveland, TN, I believe it is Cleveland Boat Center? If so, how was it as far as service and all?

THat is very friendly of you Sporty. I'm also TTU grad, BSEE, 1983. Grew up very near the Cross Eyed Cricket, near Atomic Speedway, sure you know those places!

Would be nice to camp or something for few days. I'll be watching for a date. Second half of June and July are actually pretty open for me now.

What is your private lake like? Size, length, depth, etc.

I'll be looking out for the East TN peeps here and shooting you a PM or e-mail. I think I saw Engine Nut having a TN handle as well....

Leroy, since you went to TTU, I'm betting you've been on Center Hill as well. Another fine lake to visit...

Belly up here folks. Suggestions are welcome for a gathering place.

We have a large time here for a small place... (That's the cove that runs in from a big ol' lake.... ). I'd like to see a few hosted Lake Lounges as well.

We have stayed at condo's at Edgar Evans every year since college except last year we rented houseboat on Dale Hollow. TN has the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen.

DId you take the water ski course at TTU by Tom Weir? Was a great way to get your PE credit!

Did you take the water ski course at TTU by Tom Weir? Was a great way to get your PE credit!Tom and I used to ski together on Center Hill. I'd like to think I passed on a few tips to him and as he progressed, he became very proficient in the sport. I remember when he started that curriculum. I was a 78 grad.....

Geeze where have the years gone, but I still love to slalom and barefoot, and also love to teach others to ski.... Man, I was going to the Masters to spectate when one could go for under $500 bucks (all-inclusive round trip) including an all weekend pavillion pass and a local hotel room......... I think I spoke with Cory Picos (with a translator) there at Calloway when he was there at age 12 or 13. LOL....If one has never been and gets the opportunity, the Masters if a fine event, both on the water and on the beach. ;) :D

I have been to almost every lake in East and Middle TN and I still like Center Hill over the others. DH is a fine place but dang it is a wide open lake compared to CH.... Lots of whitecaps and rollers on DH, where CH there is always a long creek to find good water.....

Ty, anytime you feel froggy, jump on down here. I'm only about 30 minutes or less away. I can be at Turkey Creek Shopping Mall in 15 minutes from my house. E-mail me and we can hook up on a very short notice or PM me for my phone number.

We are on Tellico, and Ft. Loudon often and would love to meet some new friends to ski with. We are also hoping to explore Norris and a few other local lakes this summer.

You've got an awesome place there! Looks like a great place to be in the hot summer months.I like it here a lot. I feel yEr pain too. I have spent 13 winters (various years) in Bloomington, IL with a contract job. Too cold and flat for me to think I'm there permanently. Born and raised in East TN...

Thanks for the compliments on the property, fine folks.... The lake property has been in our family for 42 years now...

is that pic taken on center hill lakeNo Sir, but I have tons of pics of CH. That is Watts Bar lake near Kingston, TN. The smoke stacks in the background are the ones on I-40 there as one crosses the river. They are 1003 feet tall and can be seen from most anywhere nearby.

Center Hill is my favorite lake in these parts...

Sporty;

I've spent 20 years in Indy, and looking for reason to move back to TN but will probably be after 10 yr old daughter leaves..... My wife even said she wanted to move to TN several times lately. Was out in the Sierra Mountain range this morning, only place that compares to TN, even better skiing in the Sierras (Tahoe)!

we vacation every year at norris lake for a week and a half. it's the best time i have wakeboarding all year because you never really have to turn around a lot, like the private lake we ski on up here.
