I have searched and only find heatercraft heaters.

I finally got to the heater and the core is shot. fan works. ( looks like a single speed 4" bilge fan )

I know some have said they used ford ranger , and cougar heater cores. But So far I cant match this one.

The core outer measurments are 7 1/4" X 6" X 2"

the outlets are on the end. I have found plenty with the outlets on the side.

can anyone tell me where I might find a new one.

Or have any info on the Acuheat company.

thanks

Take it to a radiator shop.

Or autozone. They offer a lifetime warranty.

I'd buy a whole new heater unit from HeaterCraft - grey box, core and blower. They used to use that same crappy core in the picture above and HeaterCraft failures in that generation of heater are legendary. Their upgraded core is much, much better...such that I wouldn't even waste my time trying to get the old one repaired.

IMHO

It was NAPA part # 660-3540

I've got the exact same heater core that needs to be replaced in my Prostar 205.
I asked NAPA about NAPA part # 660-3540 and they say it doesn't exist.
The core I have has burst the internal passages from water freezing in the off season and is not worth repairing. I've bypassed it using one of the hoses but would like to replace it while I still have all the pieces :)

Anyone else been able to find a suitable fit replacement(with make,PN,price etc)?
The core itself is measured as a 6" x 6" x 2" and the overall is 7.25" x 6" x 2" as per rem's pictures.
Thanks,
Pete

I ordered one from skidim. I got the whole assembly. Fan,core, and housing. It was pricey but now it is fixed. I also installed valves in my bilge to make it where the core was in or out of service with a bypass.

Thanks for the reply OldAir. I was hoping to go inexpensive on this.

Thanks for the link Table Rocker . You Rock!
I'll check with NAPA again. I'm hoping it won't matter that I'm dealing with NAPA Canada vs US.

I tried to go inexpensive and ordered a core to fit in my old box since the fan was still good. It almost was a fit. I ended up spending four hours trying to modify this box just enough for my new supposedly drop in core would work. Long story short--I crimped a tube when it got away from me and I dropped the core off of the work bench. Throwed the whole thing in the trash--didn't even bother to put in in the sell for recycled metal pile. Ordered one from skidim--installed in less then an hour. It might work out for you but it was just one of them days for me.

You don't have to buy the whole heater unit. The fan itself detaches from the grey box and reattaches to the new Heatercraft box in the same way. Even though the box itself is a little different size than my OEM, the fan still matched up.

Acuheat is the "model" Heatercraft is the company that makes them.
Take a look at the cover of the install manual.
Yours is a Acuheat 100 made by Heatercraft.

That is what I have in my boat for a heater core. Saved a few bucks over a heatercraft and I like getting Summit's catalog. ;-)

My heater is blowing cold air, does this mean my heater core is shot? I have a 1 yr warranty on the motor so I'm guessing I won't bother with it until the end of the season but I was just wondering.

When your feet are wet, your heater core is shot. Make sure that your valve on the engine is open allowing hot water to flow through your heater.

Yep, follow the hose if you need to. It will probably look like a garden spigot.

I can't find this valve anywhere. Can anyone with the 8.1 tell me which side of the motor I should be looking on.
