For $590 how can it not improve your skiing? ;)
Here's something to improve your skiing and back...drink more beer, work out, hips up, and handle in!

OK, the physics make more sense to me now... but I still dont think I would like it. It reminds me of the gloves that used to have that strap built in them to try and compensate for your fingers and palms being exhausted. I never liked them either.

Are you saying...to actually work at something? Huh, come on...there has to be a device or something that can make all this easier without all that pesky work! BTW, I guess with the price of this thing I can figure out how he making those Citation Jet payments...
(although I think Tex's idea of more beer sounds pretty damn good!)

Just wow, a set of clincher gloves with the strap continued up into the vest and then transfered to the hips.
Wonder if there will be regulations to deal with this, next logical step are POWERrods to connect the vest to your POWERshells, probably with some 3M interloc, finally one can ski in complete relaxation without core muscles.

That is INSANE... For the life of me, I can't see how anyone can justify a near $600.00 life jacket.

And if all that fails, then let go of the handle and just grab another beer.;)

for that kind of money, it better be able to help me drink more beer, eliminate hangovers, and improve my terrible skiing abilities. Give me a break. Get a back brace, and work on your upper body a little more. 600 bucks buys a very nice gym membership, or a hell of a lot of beer, which ever you are looking for.

As much fun as it's been to poke fun at this product and it's price...I think our man here is the target market for this deal. I think there are some on the forum who would pay 600 for something that would help the knees as well.

I'd pay 6000 for something that would make me land inverts from both sides. Truth be told I spent $600 dollars several times over for something that would help me cut 3 strokes off my golf score. If someone other than the company reviews it and feels it works I may be in and let you know how it works.

Man oh man that bites. I have a slight disc herniation- couldn't walk. My wife had to take me to the doctors in a wheelchair....Luckily I was able to get an injection and phyiscal therapy to help with the disc. It's working, but I could be in your shoes soon.
Hang in there. It will get better. I too would pay a ton if I could still get out on the water.

You could build this with webbing a pair of gloves, a back brace and some time with a sewing machine, Goode just tinkers.

There's a lot of negative comments here. I assume all of you are big strong fellows that don't need help. Consider me a lazy wus!
The vest was a last resort. I've battled constant arm problems for two years. I had come to the mind set that if the vest didn't work I'd give up slalom and probably trade the boat for a more family friendly wakeboard model.
Fifteen days ago I skied (with Shepard) three sets (only 5 passes per set). It was the first time all summer I was able to ski more than one set. I had not been able to ski for over a month prior. As of yesterday my arms were still aching severely (we think its the radial nerve) and it had been 14 days since I last skied. There is no way I could have skied. BUT, I had just received the vest and wanted to try it out. I could have skied all day long!!!! Yes my arms still hurt but no more than before I skied. I adjusted the vest to do most of the arm work. I skied 11 passes in one set and had absolutely no fatigue or excess pain (we do have to wait 3 minutes between passes for the bounce backs to clear).
In the end, the $600 for the vest was CHEAP!
The vest will keep me skiing thus my 8 and 5 year old will join me. Nuff said!
Well....one more thing......there were several comments inferring the vest is for the weak. Want to arm wrestle?

I skied with someone last week who has a Goode Powervest. His shoulders are so torn up he has not skied in about 1.5 years. His comment was $600 is not cheap, but he is in the water again. He said it was worth every penny. The vest has a plastic back brace with straps that go down to clincher gloves. It allowed the guy I was skiing with to take all the load off his bad shoulder and transfer it to the plastic plate. The plate ultimately transfers it to your core. I agree that it is alot of money, but for someone who loves to ski and could not take the wear and tear anymore the vest made all the difference in the world.

Exactly! Except $600 is cheap to ski or not to ski.

I'm glad you found something that works for you. I can't wait to see that contraption in person. I remember you telling me about your arm problems, but you didn't seem to be in pain the day we skied.
Maybe the beer helped. :D

When I ski it doesn’t hurt any worse than sitting on the couch but several hours later it sets in. I still can’t lift my left arm above my chest, its really in the shoulder now. Oh, and the beer, it does make it feel better!

BTW, regarding the vest, the only way you can distinguish it from any other slalom vest is the straps. It’s much more compact than a coast guard approved vest.

Another note, the only time it felt weird was while floating in the water and reaching for the rope. Can't exactly reach as far.
