I was out on my 79' S&S over the summer I got stranded on the lake and needed a tow from my buddies S&S (what a sight). The starter wouldn't turn over and the cables from the battery got really warm. After that I cleaned all the connections (at least all that i could find) it worked for a few times. The other night i was back out on the lake and just the opposite happened, the starter wouldn't disengage. Does this come back to dirty grounds and connections or could it be my relay. lately I have just been jumping the relay and then unhooking it after it starts and has been working to get it started.
