Was supposed to be leaving today for another trip, but the boat is still in the shop, so instead here's a few from the last trip out with the MariStar.

Coming back on the yellow tug. On the plus side, check out my new Infinity Marine 6.5 speakers. :D

So what was the problem with the boat? Is it fixed? How much did it cost? Don't answer that. :-)

Since the boat is down I figure I'll try to squeeze in a sod poodle trip to CO instead before the furry bastiges go underground for the winter.

I used to hunt those little buggers many, many moons ago when I was living on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. A 22-250, some sand bags, a cooler and a dog whistle on the Buffalo Gap grassland. In those days, South Dakota was paying $.25 for a black tail.

I remember one of the first guys to modify a honey wagon to make it into a prairie dog vacuum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLQ70JJpa0M). That guy could fill up his tank in about 2 hours up there. It was hilarious.

I know I was just joking.

First trip out since the boat took a digger last summer. Splashed it late yesterday afternoon and stayed out 'till after dark. Pretty windy, but otherwise perfect weather. Seems to be running fine, although the oil pressure gauge isn't working now. Nice to have it back.

First (and last) time ever beaching the boat. Pulled up to the park to eat dinner and run the kids.

I absolutely love Havasu garages. Drive-through and 62-ft deep.

Look'in Good!

Did you guys get any cool lightning and thunder last night?

Talked to my buddy this morning and said they got a little in the hills of Parker last night.

We never saw any lightning, but we did get drizzled on a couple times. Winds died down once the sun set. Water is a little cold (for Havasu) but it's still sorta early in the year. I like it like bath water. Right now water is probably mid-'70s. *I can feel the east-coast and northern guys collectively rolling their eyes at that one*

For some reason I can not see the pictures??? Is there some sort of setting on my computer I need to change to be able to view them?

Couple from day 3 of our 5 out here. Killer weather. 'Bout 110-115 with water anywhere between mid-70s to mid '80s depending on where you are. Yesterday was a zoo, but suprisingly today wasn't bad.

Haven't taken the Maristar decals off the right side yet. Looks much cleaner w/out 'em.

First trip back to the zoo in a couple months. Wife had our 3rd boy back in July, so early June was the last time we got out. Heading back later this week and then again in mid-Oct. Weather was killer. Low 100s and the water temp was perfect. Little busy on Saturday, but we basically had the lake to ourselves on Friday. Sunday there was just enough big boats to make it interesting heading up river past the sand bar, but not so many you thought you were gonna get run down by some drunk dude in a Magic every 5 minutes.

Nice sandy beach up river. Pulled up next to a jet ski sitting there with the bottom all bashed up. Sheriffs pulled up and sure enough, it was stolen the day before out of Needles.
