You could always look at the camera mounts used in race cars. I have one of these

from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. It fits 1 3/4" - 2" round bar and works great in my track car. It's very stable with no vibration to the camera. I made my own mounts in the past, but found there is a lot more flexibility with this one.

Have a look at wakevideo.com (http://www.wakevideo.com/Trakker/)

It's one of the original Trakker's.

I have a Trakker that I bought a few years ago. It's not perfect video, but pretty close. Probably the second best thing that has improved my skiing (next to skiing with someone better than me). I have him on video too, to see how it's supposed to be done. Well worth the investment IMHO.

Heres a pic of a homemade system that RYAN posted a while back.

I made my own too (without the use of a paint roller) but was unable to get much video due to my Digital JVC camera having a "drop guard" feature that shuts it off when you hit a bump (the wake). Needless to say it didn't work well bolted to my snowmobile helmet either! TB

The Canon HF 10 is highly recommend for pylon mount.
- flash memory recording
- additional SD card
- HD resolution
- optical stabilizer
- low power consumption
