View Full Version : Lake Temp Display

I have noticed all summer long that sometimes it takes a good 30 minutes of time on the lake before the water temp stabalizes on the Multi-Function Display on the bottom of the tachometer. It usually starts about 7 or 8 degrees lower then where it finally ends up. Given that it is a thermocouple in the paddlewheel this never made any sense to me, but I did not give it too much thought. Now that it is getting colder here, I have been more curious about the water temp and was looking at the display as I shut off the motor. When I switched the ignition to the Accessory position, the display almost immediately went from 61 degree water temp to 68 degree water temp. It finally settled out at 69 degrees. When the next skier was ready, I restarted the boat and it went right back to 61 degree water temp. Anybody got any thoughts on what might cause this and where I should start looking at connections or other things?

Thanks,

Steve

Bump.

Jim N or any of the MC techs have any idea whats up here? There was over a 10 degree swing between when the boat was running and when it was shut off and in the accessory position last night on the lake. (Read 58 when running and 69 when in accessory)

Thanks,

Steve

Mine measures temp on a democratic scale as well. A totally unrealistic 110 deg F One of my winter projects I guess. Anyone have a temp sender bailout plan?

Steve, it is starting to sound like your gauge just likes to get stuck on 69 each time.

Mine is always between 101 and 110, and since me Doug and Lenny are all on the same lake it has to be right.
