I see she just got cold feet and ran away... She should be billed all of the man hours spent looking for the dumb Bi*#h..

Anyone notice they were after the Husband to be? He had taken lie detector tests and the cops wanted another one. He said he was scared to leave his house... Scary being a man in todays world..

I know tv editors can make you look like whatever character they want, but his friends (who thought they were making both parties look wholesome) kept repeating "he would bring her around and show her off to all of his friends and all the kids)
I thought that was odd
(BUT, I don't want to know what kinda fool I'd look like in a national interview)

How would you like to be at this wedding???

You gotta love this guy..... This is a story
about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University. It was in the local newspaper and even Jay Leno mentioned it. It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests.

After the wedding at the reception, the groom got up on stage with a microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding. He especially wanted to thank the bride's and his family and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him. So taped to the bottom of everyone's chair, including the wedding party, was an envelope. He said this was his gift to everyone, and asked them to open their envelope. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy of his bride having sex with the best man.

The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had hired a private detective to tail them. After just standing there, just watching the guests' reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, "F--- you!". Then he turned to his bride and said, "F--- you!". Then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said, "I'm outta here."

He had the marriage annulled first thing in the morning. While most people would have canceled the wedding immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with the charade, as if nothing were wrong.

His revenge...making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for a 300 guest wedding and reception, and best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputations i! n front of 300 friends and family members.

This guy has balls the size of church bells.

Do you think we might get a MasterCard "priceless" commercial out of this:

Elegant wedding reception for 300 family members and friends.....................$32,000.

Wedding photographs commemorating the occasion.....$3,000.

Deluxe two week honeymoon accommodations in Maui....$8,500.

The look on everyone's face when they see the 8x10 glossy of the bride humping the best
man..........Priceless.

There are some things money can't buy, for
everything else there's MASTERCARD

It gives me a headache that this is still national news after they found her. This guy deserves what he gets if he marries her. Since NM authorities didn't press charges, inasmuch as they're the ones to which she made a fake phone call, I don't know how they're going to make any charges stick in Georgia. Last I checked, there was no law against not telling people where you were going. Is it inconsiderate? Absolutely. Do I regard her as lower than what some dog left on my lawn? You bet. But if Georgia tries to make a charge stick in Georgia, they only thing they'll prove is that they are good at wasting tax payer dollars.

/obviously they were doing the right thing in searching for a missing person. Maybe they can prove intent based on her actions in NM. A jury will likely convict her because everyone is so pissed off seemingly. But from a legal hypothetical standpoint, I don't see it sticking in Georgia. New Mexico could rake her over the coals pretty good though.

//I'll repeat that guy deserves what he gets if he lets her back into the house.

Runaway Bride Pleads No Contest to Felony

By DANIEL YEE

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Escorted into court by her fiance, runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks tearfully pleaded no contest Thursday to faking her own abduction. She was sentenced to probation, community service and a fine.

"I'm truly sorry for my actions and I just want to thank Gwinnett County and the city of Duluth," Wilbanks said in court.

Judge Ronnie Batchelor sentenced her to two years of probation and 120 hours of community service as part of a plea bargain. He also ordered her to continue mental health treatment and pay the sheriff's office $2,550.

That is in addition to the $13,250 she previously agreed to pay the city of Duluth, Ga., to help cover the overtime costs incurred in searching for her.

"She's done everything that we would ask of her," said her lawyer, Lydia Sartain. "She has accepted responsibility."

District Attorney Danny Porter called the plea "a good resolution of the matter under all of the facts of the case and taking into consideration Ms. Wilbanks' prior criminal record." Wilbanks was convicted of shoplifting during the 1990s.

Wilbanks, 32, whose disappearance just before her wedding day created a nationwide sensation, arrived at the courthouse in a casual, hooded black outfit and running shoes, with a new bobbed hairdo. She was wearing her engagement ring.

John Mason, the man she was supposed to have married April 30, was by her side in a black suit as she strode past a crowd of reporters.

After the sentencing, the attorneys approached the bench to discuss the case and Wilbanks sat alone at the defense table, hugging herself and sobbing quietly. Mason sat several rows behind her, watching in silence. The two did not share any words or glances as Wilbanks' lawyer escorted her out a back door of the courtroom.

Mason and Wilbanks' family members had no comment.

Wilbanks disappeared from her Duluth home on April 26, four days before she was to have been married at a lavish ceremony with 600 guests and 28 attendants. She cut her hair and climbed on a bus to Las Vegas and then Albuquerque, N.M.

She called police three days later, claiming she had been abducted and sexually assaulted. She quickly recanted and said she fled because of unspecified personal problems. After returning home, she entered psychiatric treatment at an unspecified facility.

Last week, she was indicted on charges of making a false statement and making a false police report. She could have gotten six years in prison and $11,000 in fines if convicted.

The false statement charge under which she was sentenced stemmed from a phone call she made from New Mexico to Georgia in which she made the abduction and assault allegations. The false-report charge was dropped as part of her plea bargain.

Wilbanks also could also have been ordered to reimburse authorities for the full cost of the search, which has been put at more than $50,000.

So very pathetic is he. Clouded by the dark side. I stand corrected on one thing though. I didn't realize she'd called the Georgia cops from NM. Guess those charges would stick.

And by the way, I've been to Georgia and there are much better looking girls. This guy apparently comes from good stock. He ought to suggest they see other people for a while. Test the waters a bit.

Runaway Bride Mows Lawn As Part of Service

By DANIEL YEE
Associated Press Writer

August 9, 2005, 4:41 PM EDT

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Instead of cutting out of town, runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks is cutting lawns.

Wearing an orange community service vest and a baseball cap with the slogan "Life is good," Wilbanks did part of her court-ordered community service Tuesday for lying to police after she ran off days before her wedding.

"I'm doing well. ... I'm getting there," a sweating Wilbanks told a throng of reporters and photographers after her mower died out in the tall, wet grass. "I need to get back to work. I don't want to get into trouble."

But her mower kept sputtering out, prompting her to repeatedly yank on the pull cord to get it started again. After the eighth time, she let out a huge sigh.

In all, Wilbanks was ordered to do 120 hours of service, and she has already completed 24 by scrubbing toilets in probation offices, picking up trash and washing public vehicles.

"She's a hard worker. She didn't take advantage of anything. She did more work than most people," said 17-year-old Michael Powell, who has cleaned bathrooms and offices with Wilbanks while working off his own sentence of 80 hours of community service for an offense he declined to disclose.

When he first met Wilbanks, Powell was one of the few who had no idea who she was.

"I said 'Whoa, what's a girl like you having to do 120 hours of community service?' She said, 'I told a lie."

"I said, 'It must have been a pretty big lie,' and she laughed, saying 'Haven't you heard of the runaway bride?'"

Wilbanks, 32, disappeared four days before her scheduled wedding in April with 600 invited guests. Hundreds of police officers and volunteers -- including members of the wedding party -- searched for her for three days.

She called her fiance, John Mason, from Albuquerque, N.M., early in the morning of her planned wedding day, claiming to have been abducted and sexually assaulted. She soon recanted her story, saying she fled because of personal issues.

Wilbanks pleaded no contest in June to telling police her phony story. She also was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $2,550 in restitution to the sheriff's office that helped with the search.

The nearby city of Duluth, where Wilbanks had lived with her fiance, spent nearly $43,000 to search for her; Wilbanks has repaid $13,249.

Wilbanks has been undergoing mental health treatment. In an interview with Katie Couric shown on NBC in June, Mason said maybe the couple will get married "one day." "But we don't know the answer to that question yet," he added.

ya think Michael Powell & The Runaway Bride are gonna hook up now???
