View Full Version : Recirculating Pump Question

The recirulating pump on the 351PC went south this weekend after almost 30 years of use.

Found the exact one I need from NAPA for $35 smackers, one problem, two outlet ports on the top of the pump with stubs sticking out, no doubt the automotive application of the same pump....they can get the marine version but for $185.

Heck I can buy just what I need from skidim for $119.

I guess I just cannot believe the marine pump is about $80 more and the only difference is the housing cast with or without ports... What a rip...:uglyhamme

One of the ports is a bypass and can be plugged, IIRC.

See if a local shop can rebuild the old one. Usually, it's only a couple of seals and bearings.

Plus, the marine version has a different impeller for marine use, but if you have a closed cooling system, you can use the auto version because it uses antifreeze like a car/truck, not raw fresh or salt water to circulate.

Yeah, I think the impeller is stainless but the seals are different, too.

Look online for a Sierra part that will replace what you have.
