I noticed The bilge running more then normal I thought it was the gland. This week I found it water is poaring out of the Impeller housing. So much so that I can't even tell where it is coming from. I run in salt water so its spraying salt water all over the engine compartment. Very Bad:eek: I never did an impeller but the gasket looking so thin its like a piece of Teflon tape. Is that normal I do want to replace it what should I use. There is also a washer on the very bottom of the housing that is loose, like rattling around. Is that normal? Is it hard to just change the entire impeller pump? I really don't want to take any more chances with this. Where can I order a new Impeller and do I just pull the rubber impeller off the shaft with no tools. Thank you for any advice you can give.

There is a rubber gasket/seal that is behind the inpeller, that's probably gone bad along with the inpeller. You could replace both for about $35

I'd try the gasket first. Then I would soak the motor down with 656 or corrisionx to help prevent any more rust!! I run in salt also and I spray the motor down before every use with 656.
Looking at the photo from the side, it looks like the pump is angled, relative to the crank pulley. Loosen the belt and grab the raw water pump to see if it wobbles. If it does, you need to replace the whole pump. That would also cause the rattling. While you're in there, clean anything that got wet (fresh water should work) and remove the crank pulley, clean it up and have it painted or powder coated. If you leave the pulley with the rust all over it, your belt won't last long.
The gasket does compress when the bolts are tightened to install the plate on the pump housing. It's not hard to replace the pump. You'll need to remove the bracket with the "washer" you referred to, but that's actually a small bolt and washer.

Pull the impeller then check this seal. It's kinda hard to get out but you can do it. Be careful not to damage the housing.

I think it is leaking from there. I have a call into Ski Dim now to see if they can get me a part number for that inside seal. That is where the rust came from it leaks in the outside of the pulley and the throws it everywhere. That rust happened in like 2 weekends. I have a 2001 205v LTR 350 5.7L I think I need the first one on this page, but it only has the outer gasket.

I would just replace the whole impeller pump... it will come with a new impeller and seal - no need to find pullers and presses to put pump back together.
The seal won't cause rattling. That would be the bearings and all you need to do to check it is grab the pump and see if it moves around. Don't waste time and money on parts that you don't need when it really looks like the pump body is moving. The gasket won't make it spray backward, either.

Thanks for all the help. It looks like the right thing to do is to just change the whole pump. I'm confused on which one to order. I think I need P/N 11205

Call skidim and tell them what you have (engine) and they'll hook you up.
