Hello. I have a hole in my 2004 MCX engine's exhaust manifold. My local mechanic has noticed this previously and warned me that this was coming and coming soon. Eventually it did. The exhaust manifolds started showing what are I belive signs of anodic corrosion on the seals (plugs or whatever they are called) and where these are welded to the manifolds. I use the engine in salt water but flush the engine after every use. I am aware of the fact that salt water acts as catalyist and helps softer metal gradually dissolve and stick on to a neighboring harder metal. I am pretty convinced that this is what has taken place as seen from the pictures. Other plugs are also showing signs of this and soon will start leaking water. Local mechanic said he could remove these corroding plugs and weld new ones in. Have you seen anything like this before? Can anything be done to prevent this from happening again in the future? Thanks for your help.
