Saw this on my way home last night. News vans were still out there this morning on my way in. I'm guessing somebody got a ticket they weren't really happy about.

Flipper, I also saw this on the news last night and this morning. Apparently he was doing "touch and go's" and something happened:( Rick

I've herd a few stories on it. The way he hit is cross wise to the run way.

Those planes aren't much bigger than a kite  maybe a wind factor :(

It took only an instant, for the Socata Rally, a single-engine plane to shift directions and slam into the western side of the CHP inspection facility, on Highway 101 North. The pilot died instantly

The plane was for sale. Sounds like he had more problems than he could deal with.

So it was a suicide.:confused:

I would say if it had problems and he still flew it  um?? yes!

I didn't say it was, I was just sayin'.

If that's why he crashed, at least he picked a place where no other people were going to be hurt. If it was some kind of failure, he knew he was going down and he could control his descent, it's more sad because he may have sacrificed himself to keep from hurting anyone else.

Supposing that he knew it had a problem and flew it anyway, that's not how suicidal people operate. They decide when they want to die and want that to be the last thing they control because many think they have no control over their life.

Suicide comes from making a decision, not having an accident.

I saw that on the news, too. I finally recognized the weight station. I hated that place when I used to drive... Now, I fly. Coinkidink? lol

Sucks when stuff like that happens. Bad for those involved and general aviation. Sad!

We had a bad plane crash at the coast. Two guys took off in the fog, early in the morning, ran into trouble and crashed into a house full of family members there for a family reunion:( I think 3 children died, some of the parents were out on a walk when it happened. Terrible...
