I believe there's a fill line. But otherwise, I'd fill to the point just before the reservoir becomes "less narrow."

3/4 full when looking at an oil bath cap or just above the Reliable symbol which ever yours has as you didn't state what year trailer yours is?

No disrespect intended but remember that it is Brake Fluid and not Oil.

For my master cylinder (brake fluid) I fill it to about 1/2" below the top.

For my trailer wheel hubs (75W90 gear oil) I fill to 1/2 to 3/4 as viewed in the site glass.

Yes I am lost as well...... my mistake if you meant brake fluid. My advice is for oil hubs not brake fluid. When saying oil that was what I assumed.

Whichever it is, one must not forget to change the filter on the winch motor and don't use a Fram!:D!
