Just wanted to get an opinion on the Hurth 1-1 transmission. Are they o.k.? I'm used to the Borg Warners....just wanted an opinion on these. Thanks in advance.

They work great. Simple and bullet proof just like the Velvet Drives.

Three weeks into my first Hurth...I love it...and it's five years, 300 plus hours, old. (and it's a 1:1).

Thanks Guys........Age-I just bought a PS 209 with the 1:1 Hurth. I am used to the 1.5:1 on my old Stars and Stripes..........how much different will this one be? I haven't taken her out yet. Will the Hurth and a 4 blade still pull like the old Velvet?

Gamble...fraid I don't have the MC experience to know what it's like to ski behind an ole SNS...tho there are a lot of them on our lake. Compared to the sterndrives I've owned...a Chaparral and a Cobalt...so not exactly bottom feeding...that tranny with the MCX is a lot of fun to drive and be behind.....and that's with the stock four blade 13X13. I hear the new CNC 3 blades are even smoother.

They are fine transmissions in my experience, but a 209 with a 1:1 probably won't pull the with the same ferocity as a S&S with a 1.5:1.

thanks for the replies.......East Tx......I bet you're right.....that ole S/S will pull a house down! I'm hoping with this being a much newer boat and bigger motor, that the hurth 1-1 will still pull o.k. Not sure which prop is on it now, I just hope it has close to the power of my old one!

Those of you with a Hurth ZF trans, is it normal for the trans to grab once in a while when in neutral? I was running it in the driveway, while it is in neutral every once and a while it will grab and turn the shaft maybe a 1/2 turn. Are there any adjustments?

The old BW transmissions tended to do this as they got older. If it's only doing it every once in a while and is not noticable unless you're looking at the shaft, I wouldn't worry about it.
