Ran into a guy at the gas pump this weekend with a 30 something feet Fountain. He said it costs $1000 to fill up and the fuel lasts about two or three weekends. Ouch!

Sounds about right. If he was at the same gas station as you, I am guessing he had nothing special for power. There are plenty of guys out there that have bigger power that are required to run 100, 105 or 110 octane race fuel, which makes spending $1,000 on fuel in a weekend not too tall an order!

If they can afford the boat, they can handle the fuel

We just had a fountain in the repair shop at the marina. It had 500 horsepower when it went out and came back with 625+. Its a Caddillac engine. And all the engine was shipped out for was new rods. Also came back with some more juice
