Has anyone else experienced water hose bursting problems? We have an 08 X Star and an 07 X80 and have experienced bursted water hoses on the X star and both motors on the X80.

there is a service bulleting on this. Here it is....

No.2007.JUN25.SB-003

A number of issues regarding the 81845010 J-hose that connects the water circulating pump to the thermostat housing on certain 2007 model RTP-1 and MCX engines have been reported. The hoses may have a weak spot resulting from uneven distribution of the reinforcement material when the hose was molded. The failures typically occur early in the life of the engine and result in the hose splitting and leaking water into the bilge of the boat. Although the failure of the hose causes major inconvenience to the boat owner, there have been no cases of engine damage or other permanent damage resulting from the failure.

From the point at which the issue was raised, all of the hoses have been tested and identified by a red paint dot on the front of the hose. Hoses on 2007 RTP-1 and MCX engines prior to engine serial numbers137187 should be inspected and replaced as necessary.

If MC knew about this problem why didn't they replace the hoses on boats still in dealer inventories? I purchased the X80 new in July 2008. Repairing this is not the end of the world but it certainly is a huge inconvenience. I would never let a car leave my lot with a known problem. there is a service bulleting on this. Here it is....

It is rather incredible. I spent the better part of a day cleaning my bilge, etc. from all the water it shot everywhere.

Here are some pics of my blown out hose. http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=401056&postcount=26

I agree. I can't imagine what the dealer was thinking. I'd be pissed.

It is my understanding that some of the newer J-hoses were still having that problem. The service bulletin covers specific dates and people were reporting blown hoses even after those dates so that could be why they were not replaced as they didn't fall into those specific dates listed in the service bulletin.
