This could be a really dumb question but I just noticed it when checking the prop for dings. When you look straight from the back of the boat, is the rudder supposed to be lined up with the prop? or is it supposed to be offset (like mine) because of the way the prop turns??

offset.

excuse the missing exhaust tip. dealer already replaced.

It either helps with steering control because of prop rotation or makes it easier to remove/install the prop. The engineers definately offset the rudder, though.

Makes shaft removal/installation possible without removing rudder.

Just FYI, new shaft, strut and prop will run about $2k. Don't ask how I know, a little tree told me:)
