I will be looking to purchase a replacement prop soon due to hitting some rocks with the stock 14.25x14.5. Question is this, we added on the X2 flyhigh system which supposedly adds a total with stock ballast to 2200-2300#'s. I noticed with that and 7-8 people in the boat shes a little slow to get up, no biggie. FYI we have the MCX. Question is this what size prop would give me better hole shot, i understand I can loose a few mph's on top end but we only wakeboard and surf so no biggie.
Thx.

I believe the next down is the 14.25 x 14 in the oj lineup. Call Eric at oj and see what he thinks. He probably will respond to this post.

Even with the 14, you are still going to be a little slow out of the hole. You've added alot of weight there, just be patient.

I ran a 14.24x14 on an X-35 that was pretty heavily weighted yesterday and it rocked!

On X-2's I've only run the 14.25x14.5 and it's always seemed pretty decent but give OJ a call, they'll do ya up right.

i had the 14.25 X 14 on an 05 xstar with mcx. after i changed props from the 13.7 X 17.5 i could never overweight the boat to the point that it couldn't plane-out reasonably quickly. my rpm's went up 200 or so at 22 mph and i lost a little top end and i consumed a little more gasoline per hour (up one gph) but it was so worth the performance enhancement that i never looked back. also, that prop allowed my perfect pass to really lock in quickly and solidly. the entire propullsion system became much more smooth and responsive.

What year is your X2?? There are a few different hull designs associated with the model designator.
MC changed the stock prop from 06 to 07 and it was much better - I believe that the newer boats now run a 14x16ish prop and the performance is MUCH better out of the hole.
