I leave for Douglas Lake tomorrow and was wondering about the mosquito situation there in Tennessee. I wasn't sure if the TVA sprayed or treated the lake banks for larvae, or how bad the mosquitos are this year. They are really bad here in northern Indiana this year. Just wanted to know how much spray to bring. Thanks!

i do not know about douglas lake but here in middle TN we have less mosquitoes than usual i would say. we do not have alot anytime though. it is so hot!!! our lake is pretty clean and stays stirred up with boats so i guess that helps.

i would bring some just in case!!!! i hope u have a good time!!!!

In southern middle Tennessee the skeeters have not been that bad. Although they always seems to find me no matter where I go. I would bring some just in case.

in se tennessee they have been really light this year. tva raises and lowers the water level for mosquito control. during breeding season mosquitos lay their eggs on the shoreline, then tva drops the water to dry out the eggs and raise it back up a few weeks later. any eggs that are laid after the initial lowering get flooded out when they raise the water back up.

When I was in the Navy in Charleston, SC, we thought to mosquitos were so big, they had landing lights, till we figured out it was just the airport nearby!
