Wish I was going just to have a couple with a fellow TT'er.

After 8 years in a row as a vendor, this year is a welcome break.

Have fun and stay dry.

Thanks!

The weather has been great so far, lows in the upper 50s and highs around 80. It should be a great week!

JBFootin:

That is a nice perk to be able to watch the shows from the office!

We are finishing a late lunch having a few cold ones before heading back to the flightline for the 3:30 airshow.

Cecil:

It is a lot of fun, you need to come back. I did miss a day on Clinton lake Saturday! I wish we had the MC up here to enjoy during the mornings!

The Boeing Dreamlifter. It is a modified 747-400 used to ferry parts for the new Boeing Dreamliner.
Pretty impressive.

I flew there back in 1989 and 1990 and camped under the wing of the Cessna. Great experience, flying into that place with all the other planes in the air and landing at the same time was memorable.

Have fun Grover! Please take pics and post them here.

I'm heading out Sunday and will stay until Weds. eve with my 9 yr old son. We'll be camping in the north 40 with some friends who are flying in some Aeronca champs and various other planes. Really looking forward to it as this a trip that my friend and I have been talking about for 15 years. I've always chosen to go to the Western Regionals waterski Championships during the same time- This year I'm taking a break for that...

We will be there from Saturday to Saturday. First time for me. Oshkosh, that is... Was actually making an "itinerary" today. We'll see what I can actually get done. Plus, my dad may get tired of it all after a few days... Or I might just wing it, no pun intended...

What does it take to fly in there now? Do you need reservations in advance or anything? When I went, they just let everyone in until the field filled up and then they closed the airport for arrivals -- unless you were a VIP of course. Back then, you had to arrive early - on the first day or the day before - to get a spot.

I was just wondering if things have gotten even worse now...

We are in Camp Scholler, bar is well stocked if anyone wants to hook up for a cocktail shoot me a PM.

In the meantime, here are a few pics. The A380 is HUGE and looking at it is like looking at a naked woman for the first time, you cant take your eyes off of her!

Nothing probably much different. IFR has a reservation system but is pretty discouraged unless you are coming in big iron and they likely do not play in the reservation system anyways. Parking can fill up and then they will close for arrivals. I forget the particulars but that mostly applies to general parking/camping. If arriving in a showplane (experimental/vintage) then you are pretty much going to make it. I never remembering hearing about showplanes being turned away. The field is only open from 7 to 7 (or something along that line) and closed during the daily airshow. Otherwise it is simply follow the NOTAM. I last flew in three years ago and it is certainly an experience I will never forget. Flying into Oshkosh for Airventure in an airplane you built is a pretty cool deal.
