Hey guys, I'm trying to find a thermostat for my PS 190 with an indmar ford 351 285hp. I looked at skidim.com but I wanted to change it before I leave for vacation tomorrow night. Does anyone know if it is a generic thermostat that I can pick up at an auto parts store. I live in the southwest subburbs of Chicago, if anyone knows where I can pick one up locally. Thanks.

You need a 142 DEG Marine thermostat. DO NOT BUY a plain old one from a autoparts store
Marine thermostats have 3 small flow through holes that always allow a small amount of water to flow through.

Chicago MC better have one for ya. They are about 14-16 bucks

Jim,,, I have a 94 prostar 190 with the fuel injected chev,,,, I would like it to run a little warmer,, I assume it has a 160 degree thermostat in it... can you run a 180?

Thanks

Jim, there is a marina by my house that deals with merc and volvo I think. What are the chances they would have a t-stat for me. It sounds like a common part. Thanks guys.
