I'm a newbie to boats in general but just bought a 1998 Prostar 205 direct drive and am trying to find out what the original prop specs were. Searching I found mention of a 13x13 for that year but my Mastercraft dealer say 12x12.5. They seemed a little unsure about that so I thought I'd ask the board who would surely know the right answer. Thx for any help here!

Contact Eric at OJ Props (865-458-5205) or Bill at Acme Props (1-888-661-ACME). Both are very knowledgable about props and will be able to help you out and answer any questions about which props are best.

My father in law has a 98 205. 13x13 4 blade was what it originally had. When he upgraded, he got an OJ XMP that was 12.5 x 12 if I recall correctly (but reading your numbers, I may have that backwards). Best to call OJ or Acme and find out what's best for you.

An Acme 13x12 or OJ XMP 13x11.5 3 blade would probably work also.

Eastie is right. 13 X 13 LC 1" 4-blade was standard, the CNC machined XMP replacement is 12.5 X 12 LC 1" 4-blade or 13 X 11.5 LC 1" XMP 3-blade or even 13 X 11 for a stronger low end.

I have the ACME 541 which is a 13X12 3 blade on my '99 205 with the 330 HP LTR engine. It has a great hole shot and will peg out the 50 MPH speedometer at 4600 RPM. Very pleased with performance over the stock 13X13 4 blade!:D
