I am guessing that the farther back I place my through deck transducer, the more likely I will avoid ariated water, splash and air - anybody had success with this> I am using the new hawk micro that many use on PWC's - takes more sampling than standard and has a very small readout.

Figured I'd bump you back up to the top. I think BriEOD just did a depth finder install. He may be able to help.

I have mine located about 10 in. to the right of the prop shaft packing gland.
It works fine there.

Mine is a coulpe inches to the right and in front of the prop shaft, works well.

I just installed mine two weeks ago. I put it just where the two above did, on a flat spot right next to the blower hose. I can't believe how well it works, and I don't know why I've waited so long to put a depth finder in.

Here is another vote for the area right of the propshaft and between the coupler and stuffing box. Mine is a Humminbird and works well there.

How does that one work for you?? No bouncing between 13-17 when sitting in 15. Just asking because I think that is the one I am going to buy and one review suggested it may occasionally have an erratic reading..

I ordered my Hawk directly from the factory and it has not come in yet - I will let you know as soon as it does.
