One of the stringers on my 1981 Mastercraft collapsed under the motor mount. After inspecting them, a huge section of the stringer is hollow.
Does anyone know of someone in CA or Arizona who has replaced stringers before?
Thanks for the help...

Depends where in California and Arizona you are. I recommend Orange County Boat Repair. They are great and do very nice work. Talk to Sal @ 714-827-6247. They are located in Stanton at the 22 Freeway and Beach Blvd.

I am in the middle of a very similar situation. My son removed the engine from his 1980 S&S only to find the motor mount bolts could be removed by pulling on them. Further investigation was ugly. It appears the entire stringer will need to be replaced. Any estimate on the cost of such repair. We are in Michigan and my son has limited resources. We are looking for a recommended procedure to try to determine if we can possibly perform the repair ourselves. Any coaching would be welcome.

Yes indeed!

I'd drag my rotten stringered boat across the country to get Bellinghamster to fix mine. (if it had wood in it :) ) Hard to find anyone that does a do it right job anymore.
