Has any one replaced their volt meter in a late 80's early 90's prostar, and resolved the low voltage reading that so many complain about? I have 12.6v at bettery, 13.7v coming out of my alternator, and 10 showing on my volt meter. When I turn on my heater fan, my volt meter drops to 9, but never any secondary consequences. Should I replace the volt meter? is there a test I can run to validate my suspicion that it is just a POS volt meter? I am equally suspicious that a new volt meter will do the same thing (i.e., read low). has anybody gone through this purchase and what did you learn?
