The water is coming in underneath where the shaft comes through. Directly under the packing nut. Cracked fiber glass? It was me that replaced the prop shaft, so no gettin mad at the mechanic.

If it's coming in under the packing, the hull is cracked. If you have insurance, the whole repair should be covered.

Is the leak coming in around (or through) the rubber hose that connects the packing gland (bronze) to the shaft tube (fiberglass tube glassed into the hull)?

It may be as simple as tightening the hose clamp (there are hose clamps on the rubber hose, right?).

What about the lifetime hull warranty?

OP Did you hit something w/the boat that could damage the hull? I'm would think "yes" since you bent the prop shaft... If that's the case, then no warranty, I'm sure. You coudl double check the fitment of the packing hose/mount to the prop log, and the prop log's seal to the hull....if it isn't the actual packing that's leaking.

MasterCraft, Stars and Strips, 1977, W351, I don't think so!
'89 didn't have but a 10 hull and deck structural warranty!

No, I'm not nuts. That's why I asked:

I didn't know that. Good to know.

The OP has some things to check now, anyway.

I can't think of anyone who would warranty a hull that hit something, that's all I meant.

However, insurance should cover it.
