Couples of questions:
Are you using Skier to Skier magnets or Perfect Pass ? Any differences ? Slalom only.
How much of them do you used ? (Don't need all buoys timing) and where do you put them ?
How deep do you install them ?
Anything else i should know about ? :twocents:
Thanks !!!

Andre,
I use the magnets on the gate buoys only. That will give me total time, not split times. I am picky about speed, but not so picky that I need split times, etc. I use magnets that I bought from Accuski sevearl years ago. (Works with Perfect Pass or Accuski) They have built in flotation, so all I do is thread the line that hold my gate balls in place and they float just below the gate ball. Attached is a pic....

We use skier-skier about 2ft under boatguide at the entry gates-1-3-exit gates they have been there so long I don't pay attention. Put your smart timer on the passenger side of the boat. My friend didn't and he kept having a 450 rpm error. Only took two passes to figure this one out.

Same here, Andre. Got the economy mags from S2S. Perfect Pass recommends as close to the surface as possible. S2S recommends as deep as possible. The reason for the different recommendations is liability concerns. The fact is, the closer to the surface your magnet is, the more easily your mag sensor will pick it up. From S2S's perspective, the deeper it is, the less likely you're going to hit it with your ski. Mine are just beneath the appropriate buoys, which, in my case are all four gate buoys and the 3 ball boat guide on the left side (the side my sensor is on). So you'll need six magnets if you have one sensor, or three if you have two sensors.

Thanks for your input everyone!
I thaught that i needed on both side of the course on 3 and 4 and that the sensor was getting a signal when crossing them. Now i understand why you put them on only one side on 3 and 4 and both sides on the gates.
Thanks Again!

In other words, depending on which way you're going the three ball is a whole different ball. :)

I have a bud who does auto-body work. He grabs the magnets off of car factory speakers. We hang them. Works great and they're free.
