Well its off to the races, I have one of the best builders in NC coming in from Raleigh to build this for me. So far its just a hole in the ground but I can smell the smoker making it out of storage now!!

Its been a while since I updated, its going well, slower then you want but that is the name of the game when your cramped in an apt. The Foundation was huge, bigger then either of us thought because the ground was more sloped then we thought. But it did allow for a goodsized garage in the basement for the boat along with almost a full door so I can use the rest for storage.

Here are some updated pics.

Wishes can come true, it's not to late. You finish off that one, flip it and move here.
Call me ... I'll even help haul those logs down here for you.

Big warm basement and you'll never have to winterize again, much like the vault!!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_13.gif

not that big, I think the boat will barely fit. 6 inches on each side... as to warm, well we will have to see... I will still be nervous since its not going to have heat and air.

Maybe for a life time of friendship, dinner parties and weekend get togethers, I'd consider dropping the price a dollar or two
Unfortunately, that's the near market price for a lake lot around here.

Does it have a secret hidden vault for the boat? Built in storage tanks for teak oil?

Yep, when the dumpster comes in we have our work cut out for us. We did go this weekend and get all the soda cans and cheese wrappers up. You would love them No1, all they eat is cheese and tomato sandwiches, best I can tell at least.

Will the patio eventually extend further from the covered area. I am one of the opinion that there's never too much outside patio space.

I believe that is the front entry...........my guess is there will be some retaining wall to the left side. Great looking home! I would have broke up some of the brick with some cultured stone though. LOve the updates!

We didnt scab a step in to get inside the house, I guess the 2 foot step up was too much for the inspector. My 62 yr old pastor made it just fine though .

Not sure on the retaining wall Mag, money is tight and my wife is handling the stairs / sidewalks. There will be bare minimum landscaping to get the CO at first and I will improve from there. I have access to a bobcat anytime I want it so even the heavy stuff wont be too bad later.

I just built a retaining wall in the back yard this summer/fall with AB blocks ... great to work with and the 83 lbs blocks are a great workout! I used about 500 blocks, built the brick columns to match the house, then just put up a fence last month on top of the blocks between the brick columns. Done and out of money
