85 stars and stripes bimini top

So now i have two kids my wife says it is time to get a bimini. does anyone know the specs i should use when looking for a bimini for a 85 stars and stripes. Beam width height etc. Also i could place to buy would be helpful.

Measure the width between the points on your boat where you plan to mount the pivot point and this is the beam width. IIRC the 85 has a flat top gunnel so it is pretty easy to mount. Later models do not have as much flat space to mount so an angle mount is required. Most biminis come with the flat mount bracket. Be sure to use stainless bolts with flat washers on the underside to distribute the load. I bought my last two biminis from Overtons and I am very happy with them. If you search on here, there are other brands that are probably more rugged but it depends on what you want to pay. I recommend the Sunbrella fabric. Pick your color to complement your boat. on my 82 the bimini was mounted on the windshield frame dont know the specs was on there when i bought it but it keeps from having to drill the fiberglass
