Just wondering if it would be possible to retrofit the new-style exhaust flappers onto an older Stars and Stripes? The old-style flappers simply clamp onto the 3" port that exits the flange on the boat. The new-style flappers that I have seen (on a 2007 ProStar 197 for example) are a more flush design. There is a flange that bolts to the transom like the old style, but there is no port (tube) protruding... the flapper is fixed in place at the top of the flange. I like the low-profile design and would love to see if it might be possible to fit these to my 1981 Stars and Stripes. Any thoughts?
