Well, I got my platform cleaned, brightened and sanded, only to find out my bottle of Starbrite Teak Oil (white bottle) was bone dry.

Where can I get a bottle quick? None nearby dealers carry any it, the usual web sites I check don't have it as well. I want it by Tuesday or Wednesday (without paying overnight shipping charges).

Won't be Starbrite but most home improvement stores have teak oil in the stains and paints ....

For Starbrite ---- try WestMarine or Boatersworld? (Both have websites) WestMarine stocks it at their retail locations, So does my local hardware store... Check around locally at hardware stores?

You can get it here on a site JimN has in his signature, http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/STR-81632/

Thanks for the replies.
West marine dosn't have the white bottle on their website other than part of a kit. Boaters world seems to think the stuff is made from gold.

Thanks TMCNo.1 for the link to Wholesale Marine. Prices seem good, but the shipping was a bit on the high side until I added a new winch and strap.

Unless you volunteer to send me up a gallon or so, I will probobly order from Wholesale Marine in the morning.

Edit: If any of the dealers on here can help me out, PM me, I will give you the business if you can ship tomorrow. Looking for the 32 oz bottle.

I was guessing you have several 55 gallon drums of the stuff locked in that vault with the boat.;)

Have you ordered from Wholesale Marine before?

No, but I had read from JimN where he highly recommended them and I fell I can trust his judgement!

Having read JimN posts for many years now, I think we can all take that to the bank!

I used a brand I got Home Depot called Watco. I have used for several years and I can say it's one of the best out there. Usually one coat will last the whole summer it applied right.

I will probobly order from the place Jim recommended tomorrow.

Or.......
according to StarBrites MSDS Sheet (ssheets/81616-msds-10-7-06.pdf) this stuff is 20-30% Linseed Oil and 70-80% Hydrotreated Kerosene. Maybe I will make my own.

I really don't know if Farm and Fleet is natiowide or just stores in the midwest region, but my local store carries the white bottle Starbrite teak oil.

I got mine from ShipStore.com. It was $14.21 for the 32oz. bottle. Here is a link.

Picked up a bottle of Watco Teak Oil at Lowes today.

I got the first coat on and it is drying. I like what I see so far.

I was going to order Star Brite, but I wouldn't have it until Wednesday or Thursday. That wouldn't give me time to get 3 or 4 coats on before the weekend.

Here is the first coat drying.
