Hi All, I don't have a mastercraft but i need your help with a question. I have a 2007 Chaparral and I am swapping the stereo out. I want to replace the speakers with JL Audio M770CCS. I ordered 2 sets and the guy sent me the Tower version instead of the cockpit version. I sent them back and he sent me the wrong ones AGAIN.
There is not allot of space behind where the speakers are going. Is there a big difference between the 2 types? Will the tower ones sound ok or should I send them back again?

Thanks in advance.

send them back, and get what you want. Why try to make their screw up work?

From what I understand, the Tower version needs a small enclosure to get the best sound, while the cockpit version has an infinite baffle and does not need any enclosure. I would send them back. For $300 a pair you better get what you want!

After all the electronics I have installed over the years, for myself and others. There is one thing I have learned, always wait and get what you really want. Otherwise, you will always regret it.

I live in the Middle East. So I got them shipped from NC to Ny and then had someone pick them up and bring them to me here. I have already sent them back once so I just want to make sure it is worth doing it again.

my understanding is that while they look identical they are attenuated differently. the tower version of the speakers are set to let very little bass through and the cockpit speakers are designed to have a more full range passing through them. the crossovers supposedly are set differently. i am no audio expert but i believe there is clearly a significant difference regardless of the similar appearance. don't stop until you get exactly what you requested. seems that they owe you a tee shirt or something for the time and freight charges you have incurred.
