I have a 351 with the drain conector with a hose to get the oil to drain out of the hole in the bildge. I am getting an oil drip from where the fitting goes into the pan. I am affraid to tighten it up any tighter from fear of stripping those threads in the pan. Anyone know what poper torque is and what type of gasket can be used?

An automotive store (NAPA, All-Car, Carquest) would have a gasket. Do not overtighten it....I snapped one off in my oil pan...the pan is steel and the fitting is brass, the steel will win every time.

My answer to torque was enough with a new gasket so that it wouldn't leak.
