I was finally able to put my boat in the water this weekend started it up and took it out and the brand new impeller burned up instantly. I know its not something too serious but still a pain. I put last years back in and it then ran no problem. Anyone else ever have anything like that happen before? I bought it from skidim going to give them a call tomorrow.

I have not had that happen, but I'm wondering how many people keep an extra in the glove compartment? You're smart in keeping last years with you. I'm thinking about picking up a spare. Where I boat there would be no chance of getting one on the weekend, so I would be out of luck.

I just happened to have it. It was actually in my truck, but now I am defiantely keeping in the toolbox on the boat.

I always keep a spare. I've had the same thing happen, but it ended up being a hose sucking air. Did you prime the pump and hoses? Lube the impeller? I've herd of it happening more than once when all the water is drained out of the hoses for the winter, and the pump burns up before all the hoses get full to cool off the impeller.

I have two old ones in my glove box just in case.

I always have an extra. Even in my old Supreme which ran the same on for about 5 years and then it burned up in the driveway when I was cleaning it up to sale. It didn't want to leave!

Extra in the glove box. Check your transmission cooler. May have weeds in it. If so, no water to the impeller and it'll burn dry quick.
