For all those of you at work who haven't been following on the net... Tiger has done it... He won the U.S. Open in dramatic fashion beating out Rocco Mediate who simply would not go away on the first sudden death playoff hole after both players shot even par 71s on the first 18 hole playoff...

here's the scores and stories... (http://www.majorschampionships.com/usopen/2008/scoring/)

it had to have made for some good TV... I wanted tiger to win by one... I like Rocco but what a legend... it was so hard to sit here and read shot by shot instead of taking half a day and going home and watching it... there's going to be a half a day i'm going to want to take off in July and head out for the cable park in Ok later though... i know this

Tee to green the last two days rocco beats tiger to death, too many missed opportunities on the short grass for rocco.

Pretty impressive round for Rocco. I didn't think he could hang with Tiger in an 18 hole format.

....But he did hang in there with him during the 18 hole play off format. It was just after Tiger birdied the 18th hole of the playoff to tie him Rocco couldn't handle the 19th hole. Tiger said he was glad it was over. I am not sure how much mor ehis knee could handle. I didn't really care who won since they are both Americans! I had to work today, but I am thankful to have XM and got to listen to the whole thing.

sorry willski I thought you said you didn't think he could hang with Tiger in a 18 hole format...

I like 18 hole play off format for the US Open. It worked out well for the USGA today. Made for some great golf!

Read that this morning. Guess he really wanted to play! I hope for him that he can recover from this surgery. I think the knee may eventually be the end to his career. Maybe not for a while, but some day.

i mean what more does the guy want... he averaged a $2mil per month income last yr... not too shabby and seeing his wife is ridiculously hot retirement ain't looking bad... what am i saying? he lives in retirement... he makes a living doing what people do when they retire
