I have a 75 Stars & Stripes w/ a Velvet Drive. I changed the transmission fluid today and was wondering if there is a filter on this unit anywhere? I don't see one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one or one internally. Can someone comment on this era of transmission?

Thanks Freek, No offense intended. Hope your having a good spring. I am going out this morning, but summer is late in Colorado. Air temp is only 45 this morn and I have to be on the water by 8 to get to work by a reasonable hour....Brrrrr

No offense, just messing with you Freak. I wish I had that problem, my lake isn't even refreshing anymore.....kinda like swimming in pee.

If your 75 is like my 83, there is a tubular screen inside the case right where the bottom oil cooler hose bolts on. You can pull it out with your little finger to clean.

Am I to understand that you access it from inside the case, through the dip stick hole?

You must unbolt the oil cooler line where it goes into the case. All of the fluid will also come out.
this is were I drain my fluid from. Since you just changed it, you might as well wait till next time. I think skidim has a drawing that shows this screen on there website.
