Just bought 05 X2 took it out this weekend love the boat. Pulled off the cover today and the back of the sun deck looks pinkish or faded. Looked great yesterday bought the boat from very reputable dealer I will call tomorrow. How do I fix it?

Recover it and try to not keep a cover on it when damp. :(

Good luck with the pink........looks like you will need new skins most likely from what I have read, I could be wrong.

I dont mean to laugh either. At least you will be able to get factory skins. Mine would have to be a custom job, and since I like things original; can you imagine the look on the upholsters face when I till him I want a big pink stripe right through the middle of my boats interior.

Just get one of those high dollar MC red/white hats, wash and dry it and you'll have a pink hat to go with the seats!

Believe it or not, the pink is "Bacterial Waste" caused by mildew. Unfortunately it "wicks" up the nylon scrim in the vinyl and there's nothing you can do about it. It's righ IN the vinyl, not on the surface.

You can prevent it by drying your boat out after each use. i don't mean just drying it off, but keeping a small heater or even just a trouble light in the boat whenever it's stored in damp weather and using a breathable cover, like Sunbrella.

The good news is that it doesn't hurt anything, it's just unsightly. ...unless you like pink.

We run into this in the awning industry all the time.

If you want to deny the return of the 90s, you might want to give Magic Eraser a shot.

Try using some Fantastic to clean your seats. It works pretty well. Never us 409. Use some fantastic on a terry cloth and you can probably get the pink out. Always wipe down with a damp clean rag. 2nd - Pick up some 303 protectant and this will prevent the pink in the future. We've used it on all 4 boats we've owned and it works great!!!!

They changed the formulation of Fantastik last year. It is no longer recommended for vinyl by MC or Fantastik (says no vinyl on the bottle).

you may be able to take a spray bottle and mix it 50/50 with water and bleach, spray it on and let dry on there then do it again and wipe off, the bleach wont hurt the marine material, i did it on my x-10 and it cleaned up real well.

Greased lighting works great just follow with a water wipe down.
