The water situation in N. IL and S. WI is not good right now. Too much rain and the lakes can't handle it! The river has come up 2-4 feet in the past 2 days.

Here at work (in the SE) we have a contract worker from WI that didn't show up today. Got a call this afternoon, she still has water running through her house. That can't be good, with more rain coming.

I just talked to a friend who lives in the dells and she said the entire lake is just a bunch of mud now. She said that all of the stuff for the ski show is just sitting in mud.

Also she said that she saw a few Mastercrafts and Malibus at peoples houses just stranded on lifts. I told her to go and take some pictures for me so if I get some I will post them. I might just head down there myself and take some, its only 45 minutes.

Post pix if you get em.

We've got friends and neighbors on the former lake, have not heard yet if they were up there on the weekend or not.

Contrary to what the MSNBC news person said, the water apparently did not overtop the dam. Since the dam held, the lake found a new escape through a neighborhood and into the river.

Our lake (not near Lake Delton) and most surrounding are all no wake zones now, but I should not feel too bad seeing this. At least we still have a lake!

For those who have skied at the RAJ site in Janesville WI the Rock River is expected to be in the parking lot by Thursday and not crest until the weekend.

I drove through Traxler Park where the Aqua Jays perform tonight. There's a yellow sign in front of the club house that says, "Sorry, No Show". The water is about at the banks of the river and not expected to crest until Saturday night or Sunday. Bad news. More heavy rain expected on Friday.

I am concerned that all this flooding is going to allow the Asia Carp to cross the electric fence that has held them at bay in the Chicago River. If they get into the Great Lakes recreational boating as we know it up here will be forever changed.

What a shame. I have been to Tommy Bartlett's show at least 3 times and it is very entertainning show for the whole family. They draw a lot of people during the summer!

Looks like it will be a year or so before that lake returns to normal. Good time to clean her up!
