My boat is on a lift a couple hours from where I am - I need to know if the starter mount was a 2 or 3 bolt? Anybody know for sure? It is on a 1989 PS 190 with a Ford 351. Thanks

My 89 ps 190 starter only has two bolts but I have a Big Block 454. I'm pretty sure my starter is bigger than yours...

I have a 90 Maristar with the 351W and I just took the starter off four days ago. It had only two bolts.

I just replaced mine on my 88'. Pull the blower, it only is two screws, but will make the job much easier.

As mentioned, one bolt is a piece of cake, and the other, not so much. Try a short extension (3") and a socket. Seemed to work for me.

2 bolts for sure!

i used to pull my 89PS190 with my full size bronco. i had starter problems with the boat once and "borrowed" the Bronco starter for the day, then swapped back to get me home. just run the blower!

I have a 1990 prostar190, I am replacing the 351 with a 350. The 350 has a top mounted starter. I have been assured by DIM that it will fit without hitting the engine cover. I measured as well. Any input?

Should be two bolts. You will need a couple ratchet extensions to take out the bottom one. Also, make sure you have a helper to hold it, or something to brace the starter with. It is fairly heavy and one both bolts are clear will "crash" into your bilge.
