I have a 1980 351 windsor ProAm. What is the best gas to put in it to get the best performance and milage out of it?

I use mid grade.... 91 octane

Different motors seem to break in differently. My old boat would actually run like crap on premium. The new boat I don't see a difference.

I would just try a tank of each. If it runs fine on regular, just use that. Usually the price difference eliminates any savings on fuel. You might use less, but it still costs more.

A lot of times on the lake you may not have a choice anyway.

Thanks for the info. This is our first boat...so we like any help that is offered.

I have the same engine in my MC and it runs fine on regular. I did run premium for a few years and saw no difference.

Or you can run what ever you are able to siphon out of your neighbors car.

I would start by making sure your timing and points are set correctly and that your advance weights/springs are in good shape. Nothing will make it run better if your timing is retarded.
