Just had new LED lights installed on my 1975 MC Stars trailer today. I have always unplugged the lights prior to dunking them. This shop (usually knows what they are talking about), says no need w/ these. Anybody have thoughts/opinions on the subject. Thanks, Freak

I have the LED's on my 07 trailer. We dont have the luxury of being able to unplug our lights backing up - because without a reverse light signal, the brakes won't release. Anyways, no issues at all leaving them plugged in - and they look really neat underwater at night putting the boat on trailer after sunset.

I've been running the same set of LED's since 1999 and I have never unpluged them...................:D

As long as they used quality leds you should have no issue. Some of the cheaper imported stuff from China is no better than incandescant.

I have used Dialight led and Truck Lite brands for 5 years with no issues and I never unplug. By design the leds do not run as hot as incandescant so they should not suck water in.
