Transmission Cooler

I had a lot of trash in the input side of my transmission cooler this weekend. It would run a little hot after running for a while. when idleing it would be fine.
I was just wondering how often others have to clean theirs out.
I know some have a filter.
I am thinking it would be a good investment.

I check mine and usually have to clean it every time i get back from a trip.

Ran the full season with a filter last year. At winterization, I checked the cooler and it was clean as could be. A good $40 investment for sure.

I also have a strainer between the raw water intake and transmission cooler.

Strainer for me too! I like that all I have to do is pop the engine cover & look at the clear cover on the strainer.
