Looks like MBO and Wakeside teamed up and created the new WakesideRides. All of MBOs stuff is now in the malibu section of this new forum. They have sections here for all different kinds of boats including us Mastercrafts. It is worth going over to check out. Another forum for some information.

It sure is tough to read the stuff on that forum.....tried changing screen res and shifting the bifocals into high gear but nothing seems to help.

Found a story on the forums there about how a houseboat driver sunk there Tige ski boat while towing it.

It looks good. Do you have to reregister though?

I love it, "run 87 octang, the knock sensor will take care of everything. That's why they put it there!"

There is some good stuff there, all kidding aside.

Doug, you should get an email from MBO with the re-registration process.

last summer i saw one of those "suck my wake" boats go down . it took three waves in the back and the dummies on board rushed to the back which made it worse and the boat went under quick. i threw him a rope and was able to pull it up and towards shore.

I read the story behind this one, and they were towing it behind a house boat and it must have gotten swamped in another boats wake.

I never understood it, why not just drive the boat if you know of such a risk. Keeping the ski boat on plane would be a bumpy ride, but would probably prohibit water from coming over the bow! I would rather have a bumpy ride than a sunk boat...

At the very least they should have put the bow cover on....

towing a boat behind a houseboat is very common. it must have been some huge boat to have gone by to swamp it.

sounds like some tour boats along with waves bouncing off vertical canyon walls.

Yep. A bow cover doesn't stand a chance of holding off that much water.

Quite a story, tour boats, barges heavy traffic. They didn't have a chance.

I think the only smart and safe way is to drive the boat through that area. Gas isn't that expensive that you can't run the boat throught that section, and if you are that concerned about the hours on the boat then put it on the trailer and go home.

I can attest to Powell getting really rough. The waves just bounce off the cliffwals and collide creating a "double up" effect. In my grandpas 17 foot I/O I got bruised Kidneys riding thru the rough channels for 20 miles back to get gas. It was a horrible experience, I was sore for about 3 weeks afterwards.

Note to self if I ever make it to Powel. That hurts

Hey everyone-

I know the topic of this thread has shifted a bit, but I just wanted to extend an invitation to all of you to come over to WakesideRides to show off your boat. We've got a ton of Malibu's, understandably, and it would be great to have some of the other makes represented in full force.

If you've got any questions, let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

skicrave, for those of you who don't know, was/is the brains that put together MBO and apparently has now teamed up with Wakeside to move MBO's content over to and create Wakesiderides.

Andre, your feedback is greatly appreciated! The Off Topic forum is stil alive and well, and we are working contstantly to improve the navigation through the forums. Bringing all of these wonderful manufactures into one arena is going to take a bit of creativity, and we're learning as we go! :)

Thanks,

Jason
