Is it common to wear out a Microsoft Optical mouse in 18 months? I blew mine up this morning and had to go to Wal-Mart to get a exact replacement! I guess I just wore out the left click button!

I usally replace one a year. Left click goes, time to get a new one.

It failed over a matter of about 5 clicks and it locked up and no left click function at all! I had all kinds of screens on the monitor checking using the right click button and the ESC key wouldn't clear them, scared me!

What?
No TMC sticker and no pinstriping?

You need to pimp that mouse?

18 months is about right

I'm not sure how many clicks 10K posts a year translates to, but I'm betting you still got your money's worth.

IMHO that Microsoft mouse is an even bigger piece of cr@p than Vista. I'm a big Logitech fan. They last forever.

I just blew up my Microsoft optical mouse a few weeks ago. I think I got 2 or 3 years out of it, and more than my money's worth. I got a new one online for about $11.00, can't remember the website though.

Apple Mighty Mouse for me. Took a bit to get used to, but I have really come to love it.

Please go on about Vista. I have some strong opinions about it myself and wondered what it was doing errr not letting you do.

Want to have some fun?

Take your cordless mouse to work. Plug into usb port in back of computer in cubical next to you. Every now and then, when neighbor is using mouse intensive work (surfing) move it around and click randomly.

Then listen to him/her complain about the mouse and computer.

Be sure to retrive the USB end before tech support arrives.

I used the Mighty Mouse for awhile, but really came to dislike it after a couple of months. It's clever and functional, but I got tired of the ball becoming non-functional due to dirt and went back to my old Logitech.

If it ain't broke don't fix it! If I had not posted that pic, you'd never have known that I wasn't using a 52" wall mounted monitor!
Go back to sleep now!
