Well, we had the sonogram this morning and we're going to have a little BOY! From all indications, a healthy one, too. Needless to say, we're thrilled. Just figured I'd share.

Good times, it is always better when you can be there for the good times and then leave for the bad ones!

Ha! Right. Sorry kid. No tubing. Life's full of disappointments.
Yeah, right. You'll be so excited to get him out on the water that you'll jump at the first chance to do so, even if it's in a tube:

East Tx Jr: "Daddy, can I wide in de toob?"
Sr: "No son, tubes are for losers. I'll never have one behind my MasterCraft."
Jr: "Pweese Daddy. You're the bestest boat dwiver in the whole world."
Sr: "Well O.K., son. Would you like me to blow it up with the pump or just using lung power?"

Face it, we're all pushovers for those little puppy dog eyes and pouty lips (works for wives too). I've already done so many things I said I'd never do, and I loved them all.

Congrats to you and Mrs. East Tx. Life is going to get better than you ever imagined. Enjoy!

While I don't deny I'll be a sucker for those eyes and the juxtiposition of Ws for Ls, your scenario presupposes that (a) we have a tube, and (b) assuming (a) is true, that it isn't burried under lots of sharp heavy things and guarded by boobie traps. :D

/I recognize that I'm unintentionally inviting lots of tubes to be anonymously sent to my house as baby gifts. To the Brians, and MarkP, or to anyone else who thinks they've found my unlisted address on the net, please keep that addy private.

My current line with my nieces has been, "I don't care so much whether they like me. They should be more concerned about whether I like them."

Well put... I said I'd never pull a tube. Then my 14 month loved it - so I had to not only pull one, but buy it as well!

All these baby pictures and little life vest stuff brings back the memories (sappy sound track in the background). May have to watch some old videos tonight  .

In your honor.....

Phase 1
1. Instead of asking “where do you put the empty beer cans?” you ask “where do you put the diaper bombs”
2. Instead of panicking over who forgot the Jaegermeister, you panic over who forgot the “binky”
3. Instead of turning the engine off between runs to save fuel, you leave it on (including during lunch break) to keep the baby asleep.
4. First slalom run is at sunrise on glass. The baby doesn’t care, it’s all good.

Phase 2
1. Instead of asking “where do you put the diaper bombs” you ask, “where do you put the empty juice boxes?”
2. Instead of panicking over who forgot the “binky”, you panic over who forgot the Gameboy.
3. Instead of leaving the engine on to keep the baby asleep, you turn it off to save gas so there is a bigger wake.
4. The first slalom run is after you dump all the kids on the shore at the rope swing.

Phase 3
1. Instead of asking “where do you put the empty juice boxes” you ask, “where do you put the empty Red Bull cans?”
2. Instead of panicking over who forgot the Gameboy, you panic over who forgot the I-Pod.
3. Instead of turning the engine off between runs so you have more gas in the tank for a bigger wake, you only fill the tank half way for a smaller wake.
4. You have to play rock, scissors, paper for the first slalom run at sunrise on glass.

And finally;
They don't let you drive anymore :steering:

Congrats Doug but I don't put a lot of trust in the sonagrams picking sexes. The Sono tech said female-Dr. said male, Sonotech was correct. My wife is nurse so she trusted the tech more.

NEW POST HERE.

Hello all! Got some news to share. Wife and I went to the doctor this morning. For those who don't know, we're expecting a baby in February. Well, today we found out we are having another BOY! Woohoo!

Disclaimer. We'd have been perfectly thrilled with a little girl, too. But this is how it worked out.
