View Full Version : Dash Material (engine turned) - where to get??

I have a 2002 X-30 that has the dash made from engine turned material. I am adding a wetsounds Ws-420 EQ to my stereo system and want to fabricate a mounting plate for the 420 from this same material.

Does anyone know where to find a sheet (approx. 7"x5") of engine turned material? I think the material MC used in the dash has 1/2" diameter swril patterns that are staggered 1/4". Also, does anyone know if MS used Aluminum or SS material in the dash.

I think this material was used in all 2002 and 2003 boats but I could be off a year or so.

Here is a picture of the material.

Thanks for the help.

if you just need a little peice of it, you could make it.... when we were kids, we'd roll up a piece of emery cloth to about 1/2" diameter and put it into a drill chuck. run it up and go along the plate using the end-grain of the roll of emory cloth- basically spot facing the little circles uniformly along the plate.... You could try it
