We are now proud owners of a 94' 205 Prostar with the Corvette engine and just over 200 hours!! Got it on Ebay so we are waiting for the shipping but the kids are so excited!:D

I had a local mechanic/boat person check it out, perform a compression test and a general, overall inspection.....he said it was in great shape and he would put his kids on it without any question. Here is the eBay link....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=024&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=370045298857&rd=1

A few things I now want to add but need some help/sources....

Bimini top
Heater
Hot Water Shower
Upgrade radio and speakers but nothing too fancy (no subwoofer).

Maybe.....a tower, primarily to get skis in the air.

Any help would be great!

Congrats!!!! I'm sure it's just the kids that are excited.:D

As for finding stuff, most everything you could want you can find all over, but www.overtons.com is one I use alot. Also http://www.bartswatersports.com/ or http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HomePageView?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&cid=1111&cid=1111 are good ones too.

We are so excited. The kids already looked on Overton last night for a tube.

Any recommendations on a boom as well? Does any boom fit or is it specific to the boat?

We got such a deal on the boat that adding a few goodies is OK for the budget. Plan on full wetsuits for my wife and the 3 girls as well. It should keep them more comfortable in our cooler water here.

I have a bid on UShip right now. The lowest offer is $1,600 after a few hours. It gave me an average of $850 so I'm hoping to get something closer with a little time.

tubes can be fun but standup sports are much more fulfilling... try to get them into it... awesome boat congrats and welcome to the MC club... you'll be hooked for life

Congrats, that is a great boat that will last many years and provide a lot of good memories.
As far as the stuff you mention adding, I'd check with your local MC dealer to see what is available OEM then compare to the aftermarket and go from there.
As far as a boom goes, I'd highly advise a Barefoot International, as they seem to be the most sturdy no matter what you are doing. YES, they cost a little bit more upfront, but it will pay off in terms of lasting quality, just like your MC.

I already got the 12 yr old hooked on skiing last summer. She asked during the winter months......"would we ever get a boat sometime....I really had a great time skiing last summer.":D

That makes a happy Dad....

awesome... and great to hear... i'll tell you if you teach your girls to ski and wakeboard you'll have a lot better feelings about them dating when they're older... most folks in the watersports community are good folks and a guy isn't going to hang around when his g/f kicks his butt all over the water a few weekends in a row

Congrats Jeff on your new purchase!

For a heater, go with a heatercraft either from your MC dealer or www.skidim.com

www.overtons.com has some bimini tops.

I got a great deal on my shower here:

Towers, IMHO the only tower that looks good on your boat is the new dimension tower. (zero-flex)

I had a 1994 Prostar 190 in those same colors, loved that boat!

Nice boat. Be sure to get a quote for enclosed shipping. (or send the seller, a fitted cover.) You won't believe, how dirty it will get, on an open trailer.

Thanks for the shower info. It seems the concensious is the Heater Craft. I also most are getting the base model 1-S series. Has this model been adequate or should I consider the 3-S? I would be perfectly happy with the cheaper one if it works fine. Also, someone had mentioned the temp fluxuating a lot. Has anyone else had the same problem with the 1-S model?

Different models:
