Tell me golf's TV ratings won't or don't go up if he is anywhere in the hunt come Sunday of any televised event and I'll believe you. He is the real life Happy Gilmore/ Tin cup of the PGA and I personally love to see someone shake things up a little. I know he is a below average golfer, but when he is on everybody hears about it.:twocents:

Sorry guys I had no idea I was tramping on sacred ground. He is like watching a human train wreck. I would like to see the PGA grow a set and ban him. He is a horrible role model for the youth in this game and they are the future of the game. Personally I feel sorry for a man too stupid not to get a handle on his out of control drinking and gambling. Did you know he handed over a very large endorsement check from 84 lumber to a casino or that his friend with 84 lumber had all he could take from the guy and ended their relationship.

I think somehow it is poetic that he ends up on a pos golf course in Branson. Not his course some DA bought his name. 8p

I like him... He is not a fake! He is real and you see and hear about the real him and he don't care. I hope he turns his golf game around and starts playing well again soon! I think I heard John Daly once say only thing comes from Texas is steers and queers...

The dude is sweet. He's got a wicked game and he's entertaining. He's no role model, but I'll take him over a cheating juicer anyday.

He really is not a below average golfer, he just does not care. Butch Harmon was gonna coach him but didn't because in his words, "all John cares about is getting drunk".

I really like the guy...

Maybe a below average pro golfer, but he is a decent golfer and could be a really good golfer if he had any discipline. He is an intriguing train wreck. I wonder what the other pros think about him?

Ok Daly does lead in some stats, DQ's missed tee times, shoots 78 in the first round and quits. I had no idea the men on here were so tolerant of men who abuse women?? There are plenty of guy's out there who work their butts off to make a living and were not handed the tour on a silver platter either.

On the other hand some of you may have gotten turned on with that topless video? 8p 8p

Not saying he hasn't made mistakes, but he's done some great things as well.

At least he's not a cheat and a fake. He is what he is and doesn't really give a s$$t what anyone else thinks.

I've seen some of his charity work and it's first class.....

If all the insinuations here are directed a tiger, that is ridiculous. I am not a big tiger fan but for many different reasons and not that I believe he shoots roids. Face it Daly is a pimple on the a&& of the PGA tour.

All golfing statistics aside, there's something to be said for Daly's ability to do what ever he wants and say what ever he wants. He lives like a rockstar even though he plays one of the most conservative sports there is.

Tiger Woods is a man among boys as far as the PGA tour is concerned. I don't think anyone is accusing him of using steroids. He was a bigger hitter when he was younger. No doubt he works harder than anyone else.

As far as John Daly goes... as much as he screws up... He can go out any given week and compete. If he could focus (or whatever his deal is), I have no doubt he could be a top 20 golfer for years to come. And the fact that he is kind of a screw ball and can show up any given week and play with the best, is what attracts all of us, his fans.

I like the guy but to say that he competes on the tour is dead wrong. He has made 3 cuts in the 10 tourneys this year, world ranking of 595th, and doesn't even have his pga tour card any longer because he can't qualify. He relies solely on sponsors exemptions to get into tournaments.
So the same way the tour bashes him for his antics, they also want him out there to draw the crowds! Now he's a walking billboard out there trying to make money on his sponsors since he can't make it by his play, but they are too starting to break away from him.
I can relate to the old "grip it and rip it" mentality but at this point it's sad to watch.

really entertaining guy to keep up w/ but man what a black eye for the golf community... a community who prides itself on class, dignity, self control, and sportsmanship... all of those have far elft JD... i like the guy he's got a style all his own... i play w/ him everytime i play tiger woods golf on PS3 that we can't play our own players or Tiger but... he really is showing that he's trash when compared to the rest of the PGA

I really do not care what you guys think, but I played the course today. One thing I have to say about it is, beeeeautiful. If you can not play golf shots and do not have an idea where the ball is going, then good luck. I am a 4 handicap golfer and I shot 80, 9 over par. Oh and by the way no-one has mentioned, while Mr. Daly was playing in denim jeans, no shirt, no shoes and drinking and smoking cigs that he shot 60, yeah you heard me 60. 11 under par, 9 birdies and 1 eagle. If any of you come to the branson area I strongly recomend you to go and play the course, not long at just 6700 yards from the tips but a nice course. and by the way that score was confirmed by the head pro and the director of golf.

Sounds like a great day and since the golf bag I have owned for 15 years says "John Daly Wilson Ultra" on the side you have my vote.

Loose cannon? yes
Drinks too much? sure, you don't?
Role model? nope
Do I love watching him hit the ball? YES
Do I hope he wins another event? you damn right I do...

Sorry Stewart, this aint a day care. Leave that to your wife :D :D
