I'm going to be at a conference in Orlando from 5/19-5/22. It's at some Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista...

Anybody in that area? Ideas of what to do on my "off" time???

TIA.

If nothing else make sure you go to Old Town. It's about 15 -20 minutes East on US 192 (Main Entrance to Disney) from where you're staying. Check out the link below:

Thanks, trick!

Sorry you're so far away. Would have been great to meet up for drinks.

These conventions always suck for me. I'm there all day, then I usually just hang out at the hotel restaurant, or the one across the street. Over the last few years, I've really been trying to get out and see something new.

Any good (authentic) Carribean food in the area, or is it too far north???

Did you go to the one in Alpharetta? I have been once, drinks are good, food is overpriced for quality. How you doing Atlfootr? Lake is coming up, only down 13.5:rolleyes:

As far as Orlando, don't do anything Disney for bars and drinks. Too overpriced. have fun while your there. Check out the watersports complex.

Yea that'd be the one, over near the Mall (Best Buy) if there still open.
The food was way over rated, tasted like Hooter's as far as quaility goes.
Definitly go to OWC while your here

Been do'n well thanks, you?
My bro, told me he moved his dock again - lives in cove near Habersham Marina remember?

Location: near whats left of Lake Lanier

You're right.....I've been to other BB's and been disappointed, like the one in Dallas, but their home office is in Orlando and they do a better job there.....that one in particular. They have 3 other locations in town but the I-Drive location is the best IMO. Bar and patio active with locals and out of towner's looking for a good time w/Carribean atmosphere.

We have moved my neighbors dock in twice so far, but I think the next move will be back out. The rained has slowed down and I don't think it will come up much more unless you guys in FLA get a hurricane which I don't wish upon anyone.
Sorry for the threadjack!

You have to go to OWC - Its a blast. You can ski or wakeboard there. Quite a place...

Regarding nightlife - If you are looking to check out a few bars, go to "The Lodge" downtown. It is located at 49 N. Orange Ave. If you make it there, tell them Craig H sent you... They'll take good care of you then... My picture is framed on the wall at that bar (not sure if that is a good thing or not...lol)

Have fun!

Not sure yet, but if I do, I'll see if I can head down that way...it would be good to meet another TMC'er.

That's pretty close to where I'll be, looks like to me...

I hadn't planned to get a car. Do I need one? Taxi's out of the question?

Point Orlando has some good bars.
Howl At the Moon (piano bar)
Universal City Walk
House of Blues @ Downtown Disney
Monster Midway Go-Cart Racing....one of my favorites.

All are on the south end of town.

**If you have a car, the Water Ski Hall of Fame is just off of I-4 near Auburndale, about 30 min east.

Unfortunately, the doc says no skiing for another 4-6 weeks (shoulder injury). I thought about skiing, but I can take another 4-6 weeks and still get quite a bit of skiing in this summer...

Thanks for all the info...maybe I'll get a car so I can get around.
